Mr. Das is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB). He is a Chartered Accountant and Income Tax Practitioner of the National Board of Revenue (NBR), Bangladesh, with 15 years of experience handling Finance, Tax, and regulatory compliances of a large group of companies.

Mr. Das had worked at Apex, ACI, NAVANA, and Bengal Group.

Mr. Das has spent 3.5 years with Hussain Farhad & Co. Chartered Accountants, managing their accounting, audit and regulatory services across Bangladesh.

In his current role at Meena Bazar-Gemcon Group, he is managing Finance, Accounts and Taxation.

বাস্তবে আমরা সকলেই হিসাবরক্ষক। প্রতিদিনের কার্যক্রমে, আমাদের বিভিন্ন ধরণের হিসাব রাখতে হয়। আমরা যেমন পণ্য কেনা-বেচা করি, তেমনি সরকারি দায়িত্ব পালনের উদ্দেশ্যে নিয়মিতভাবে কর প্রদান করি। এ কারণে, একজন নাগরিক হিসেবে আমাদের কর ও ভ্যাট আইন সম্পর্কে সচেতন থাকা অত্যন্ত জরুরি।

যেকোনও ব্যক্তি বা প্রতিষ্ঠানকে কর ও ভ্যাট আইন জানা উচিত, কারণ এতে ব্যক্তিগত অথবা পেশাগত জীবন পরিচালনার ক্ষেত্রে সহায়তা মিলতে পারে। অনেকেই ভিন্ন কারণে কর ও ভ্যাটকে দুর্বোধ্য মনে করেন, কিন্তু এগুলো সম্পর্কে সঠিক তথ্য জানা থাকলে সমস্যাগুলো সহজে সমাধান করা সম্ভব। সঠিক পরিচিতি এবং যথাযথ প্রস্তুতি কর ও ভ্যাটের জটিলতাগুলোকে সহজ করে তোলে।

এখনকার সংকটময় পরিস্থিতিতে, কর ও ভ্যাট নিয়ে সামান্য সচেতনতা যে কোনও চাকরিজীবী বা ব্যবসায়ীর জন্য খুবই কার্যকরী। এর ফলে আমরা সরকারের প্রতিশ্রুতি অনুযায়ী কর প্রদান করে দেশগঠনে অংশ নিতে পারি। অতএব, তারা যারা এই বিষয়গুলো জানেন না তাদের জন্য আমি কর ও ভ্যাটের জটিলতাগুলো সহজ করার চেষ্টা করছি। আমরা যদি এগুলো ভালোভাবে উপলব্ধি করি, তাহলে আমাদের পেশাগত জীবন এবং ব্যক্তিগত অবস্থা উভয়ের জন্যই এটি কল্যাণকর হতে পারে।

কর ও ভ্যাটের সঠিক ব্যবস্থাপনা করার জন্য কিছু গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দিক লক্ষ্য রাখতে হবে। প্রথমত, সময়মত কর প্রদান করা আবশ্যক। দ্বিতীয়ত, সরকারের নিয়মাবলী সম্পর্কে সম্পূর্ণ ইন্সট্রাকশন অনুসরণ করা জরুরি। এ ছাড়া, কর এবং ভ্যাটের প্রতিটি আইন সম্পর্কিত বিস্তারিত তথ্য সংগ্রহ করাও প্রয়োজনীয়। এইভাবে, একজন হিসাবরক্ষক হিসেবে আমাদের নিজস্ব দায়-দায়িত্বের প্রতি লক্ষ্য রাখা উচিত।

অবশেষে, বলতেই হবে যে, কর ও ভ্যাটের জটিলতা অনেকের জন্য ভয়ের বিষয় হতে পারে। তবে সচেতনতা এবং সঠিক তথ্য সংগ্রহের মাধ্যমে আমরা এই সমস্যাগুলি মোকাবেলা করতে পারব। দেখা গেলেও, একজন হিসাবরক্ষক হিসেবে আমাদের এই সমস্যা মোকাবেলা করার জন্য প্রয়োজনীয় প্রস্তুতি নেওয়ার জন্য প্রস্তুত থাকা উচিত। কর ও ভ্যাট সম্পর্কে ব্যঙ্গাত্মক ধারণা নেবেন না, বরং এগুলোকে সহজ করার চেষ্টা করুন।
